Akay Ireland is a duty free distributor of FMCG goods and leading drinks brands.

Our geographical emphasis is on the APAC and MENA region.

Akay Ireland has its Head Office in Shannon (home of the world’s first Duty Free airport shop), on the west coast of Ireland, where the company was established by Managing Director Anil Khetan in 1996. Since then the company has established an excellent reputation throughout its worldwide business and is widely respected as a company that is reliable and trustworthy. Akay is an ISO 9000 certified company with an excellent team operating from a global network of offices ensuring a strong supply chain, especially for bulk requirement. Akay is a major supplier to duty free traders, border shops, ships, military, wholesalers and distributors in many markets including Europe, China, UAE, Australia, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Africa, USA and many more.

Our duty free trading arm is a one stop destination for a variety of branded Beers, Wines, Beverages, Spirits, Confectionery, Grocery and Toiletries, dealing with over 500 brands from some of the largest manufactures like Nestle, Ferrero, P& G, Unilever, Diageo, Heineken and AB-InBev.

Anil KhetanCEO /Managing Director

Anil Khetan established Akay Ireland in 1996 and has built a successful company with an excellent reputation, branch offices in 3 countries and sales now counted in the tens of millions (€) per year to customers in 40 countries. Born in Jaipur, India, Anil has lived Ireland for well over 20 years. He initially launched Akay Ireland to import branded goods from the UK and has grown the business to supply a wide range of goods all over the globe. Anil holds a Bachelors Degree in Science (B.Sc.), a Diploma in Export Management and a Diploma in Digital Marketing.

Given the international nature of his business it is opportune than Anil enjoys travel! He is also a big cricket fan and a connoisseur of fine (and sometimes not so fine!) wine. Anil is also fluent in various languages.

Mike KearneyGeneral Manager/Group Management Consultant

Mike is based in Shannon, Ireland. As a consultant embedded with Akay for some 5 years, he brings a broad business experience to Akay and the wider global network. Before entering the world of international trading, he set-up and ran a number of businesses in the fields of air-conditioning, commercial property, entertainment, franchising and marketing consultancy.

Mike is a marketing specialist with an emphasis on strategic planning and integrated digital marketing. He has a strong eye for design and a keen interest in all aspects of brand management. He has a DipM and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He enjoys travel and meeting customers and suppliers and in his free time he plays tennis, is a single handicap golfer and enjoys a glass of wine!
