Akay AI connector for Claude

The Akay AI connector lets an AI assistant such as Claude work with the live akay.ie trade catalogue: find offers, price single products or whole buying lists by the case, and prepare a quote request for you to send. It is read-only and needs no account or sign-in.

Trade buyers only. AKAY sells to businesses, not consumers. The catalogue includes alcoholic drinks and is for adults (18+) buying for a business. Tobacco, nicotine and vaping products are not available through the connector.

Connect it

Claude

In Claude, open Customize → Connectors (or Settings → Connectors) and choose Add custom connector. Or use this link: add the Akay connector to Claude.
Name: Akay Trade Offers. URL: https://mcp.akay.ie/mcp. No sign-in or API key is needed.
Turn the connector on in a conversation and ask, for example, "Find Jameson 70cl on akay.ie".

Tools

Tool	What it does
`search_offers`	Search open offers by product, brand, EAN, size (e.g. 70cl, 6x70cl), ABV or duty status, with filters for category, brand, duty status, Incoterm, stock, location and currency. Up to 25 results a page.
`get_offer`	Full public details of one offer by its offer id or akay.ie link.
`get_price`	Price one product (offer id, EAN or name) for a quantity in cases, with the line total and any minimum-order or stock problems.
`price_my_list`	Price a whole buying list (pasted text or lines, up to 100) in one go. Each line comes back matched, ambiguous, not listed, below minimum order or short of stock, with subtotals per currency.
`request_quote`	Turn confirmed lines into a quote-request summary and a CSV file to upload at quote.akay.ie. It sends nothing and reserves nothing.
`list_categories`	Categories and brands with the number of open offers in each.
`search / fetch`	Simple search returning offer ids and links, and fetch by id, for assistants that use that pattern.

Every tool only reads the catalogue. None of them places an order, sends a message or changes anything.

What data it shows

Only the public akay.ie catalogue, exactly as listed on the website: product name, brand, category, EAN, pack and size, ABV, the listed sell price per case and per unit, currency, duty status (T1/T2), Incoterm, location (country or approved warehouse), stock status, how recently the price was updated, and the akay.ie link. It never shows supplier identities, purchase prices, margins or internal records.

Prices and currencies

Prices are in each offer's own currency (EUR, USD or GBP) and are never converted. Totals are given per currency and amounts in different currencies are never added together.
Prices exclude VAT, duty and freight unless the Incoterm says otherwise.
A price older than 30 days is marked indicative. All prices and stock are subject to confirmation; see our terms.
When several offers fit, the assistant shows the candidates rather than guessing. It never swaps a different size, pack, ABV or duty status.

Ordering

Ask for a quote request. You get a summary and a CSV file: upload it at quote.akay.ie, or send the summary by WhatsApp or email. The connector itself sends nothing.

Limits

60 calls a minute per conversation.
2,000 units a day per conversation. A call is one unit; pricing a list costs one unit per 10 lines.
20 list pricings a day per conversation, up to 100 lines each. For bigger files, upload them at quote.akay.ie.
Search results come 25 to a page, up to 10 pages per query.

Troubleshooting

"Busy" or "too many" messages: a rate limit was reached. Wait a minute and try again.
"Session not found": the connection timed out. Start a new conversation or reconnect the connector.
"The akay.ie catalogue is temporarily unavailable": the catalogue is being refreshed or checked. Try again shortly, or use quote.akay.ie.
A product is not found: try the EAN, a shorter name or a size such as "70cl". Some products are not listed, and tobacco and nicotine products are not available through the connector.

Privacy

The connector receives only what your assistant sends in a tool call (search words, product names, EANs, quantities, offer ids). It does not store them, does not log them, and sets no cookies. Full details: privacy policy.
